Choopan Grill is a nice restaurant if you are in the mood for some delicious Afghani dishes. Lamb chops are my fav. We have been coming here for years. It’s very clean and tastefully decorated. Sneha was very polite and gracious. Her service was great!

Absolutely adore everything about this place. My husband and I have been coming here since before we got married and everything we’ve ever ordered has been delicious. Eating here is like eating a homemade, healthy, delicious meal. We usually order the mantoo, bandinjan, sambosa, bolani and barg. Meats are tender, their salad is simple and always crisp and fresh. Love the variety of sauces that come to the table. And I’m obsessed with their mango juice. The interior is also so charming, Afghan photography and artwork on the walls, clean and spacious, beautiful Afghan rugs on the floors. Staff is also incredibly kind and helpful. Just love this place so much and will be eating here for years to come!

This restaurant has the best Afghan food, especially if the owner (Najib jaan) is there–the food will be extra delicious. He is also very nice and hospitable. We have been coming here since the restaurant first opened, and they don’t disappoint. The rice has such a fragrant aroma that will open up your appetite. Their eggplant is never bitter, and tastes just right–even to someone who isn’t a fan of eggplant. The aush is delicious. They put a homemade yogurt in it, but for some reason, it tasted cheesy to me. I really enjoyed their aush even though I typically don’t like homemade yogurt as it’s usually sour. The chicken tikka is super juicy and delicious. It isn’t spicy but you can add chutney if you’d like. The lamb tikka is flavorful without being chewy. Their firnee has slivered almonds inside and is topped with ground pistachios and cardamom. It is thick and creamy, without feeling too heavy. They used to make sheer yakh (in house ice cream topped with rice vermicelli and ground pistachio), but they stopped during the pandemic. Now that’s something we will definitely miss! Definitely recommend this restaurant!

I hope this place stays a very long time. My husband and i love coming here when we can. We drive from Suffolk county almost 45 minutes when we want good Afghan food. Amazingly fragrant, filling portions that arent too spicy.

I’ve been here on several different occasions for dine in and takeout, and I’m always satisfied. The food is always amazing and so is the service. This last time, I got the combo #4, which is my number one recommendation if you’ve never been here. Tender lamb chops, well seasoned chapil, lamb Tikka, and melt in your mouth chicken breast. It comes with a side of rice, but I recommend adding the rasins and carrots. Another must try if this is your first time here, is the lamb shank. Literally fall off the bone and just so much flavor. I haven’t had anything here i didn’t like, but those would be my recommendations. If you need a small dish, you should also try the mantoo and the pumpkin.
